CANAL OF DEATH

The grandiose communist project of the Danube – Black Sea Canal, also called The Blue Avenue, has a dark history. In its first phase (1949-1953), after a start marked by great revolutionary enthusiasm, it quickly became a terrible Romanian gulag.
